I think a big part of why Caron Butler is a playmate (vs. trade bait) over Josh Howard is that Caron has played his entire career knowing he's not a #1 -- as a complimentary player. Josh spent his entire time in Dallas trying to prove that he was another gem of the 2003 draft, along with LeBron, Wade, etc. What would we get back for trading him? I say we should keep him.
I agree with Richie's view of Haywood. I get the feeling that he's not fully sold on being the backup.
Steiny Mo's comment about was from before the SA and MIA games. I think it was pretty accurate: if things hadn't changed for the better the way they have since, we would have been headed in a bad direction. I listened to that BS report after the MIA game and was happy that I had seen the rest of the team produce, since I, too, was a little concerned about Dirk not getting the help he needs in order to talk championship.
